Summer Picnic Quilt Series:

Girlhood

Recycled and salvaged fabrics, thread, batting, embroidery floss, embroidery thread, paper, silk screen ink, colored pencil, pen, foods, dishes, utenstils, friends. Quilt is approx. 80’’ x 88’’
Summer quilt series - each month I made a quilt inspired by foods while testing recipes and building a menu. At the end of the month I hosted a picnic on the quilt and served the menu. I invited friends, family and strangers to see and sit on the quilt and enjoy the meal.
The June picnic and quilt were in celebration of a lifelong friendship and the bond of shared girlhood. The foods served were our favorites to eat and make together as kids. Tastes and smells that still bring me back to childhood, and the thousands of memories and meals that we shared as we changed and grew.
