Beach Quilt
2019
Vintage recycled towels, salvaged fabric, thread, batting, paper, screen printing ink, pen, foods, dishes, utensils, friends, lake, public park, swim suits. Quilt approx 80” x 80”
Summer quilt series - each month I made a quilt inspired by foods while testing recipes and building a menu. At the end of the month I hosted a picnic on the quilt and served the menu. I invited friends, family and strangers to see and sit on the quilt and enjoy the meal.
The second in the series of summer quilts and picnics.
The beach quilt is a celebration of summer itself - long days hanging at the lake, swimming, sun, fresh seasonal fruits, veggies, and flowers. Beach days are a tradition of the Seattle summer that I look forward to all year. The towel quilt allows you to keep your personal towel clean. The first of many to come.
