Summer Picnic Quilt Series:

Summer quilt series - each month I made a quilt inspired by foods while testing recipes and building a menu. At the end of the month I hosted a picnic on the quilt and served the menu. I invited friends, family and strangers to see and sit on the quilt and enjoy the meal.
The final quilt of the summer series is inspired by Swiss foods, my family and my time in Switzerland. Eating Swiss food and cooking with my grandmother and aunt both in the states and abroad have been major influences on my development as a cook. The flavors and techniques are layered with memories of being raised and fed by my Swiss grandmother and visits to my cousins in Switzerland as teenager and young adult when I first began to take a serious interest in food, cooking and hosting.
